In Memory of Clarice Fall

It was with great sadness over the weekend that we learned of the passing of Clarice Fall, our County Party Treasurer and our friend. Some of you may also remember Clarice from her time as Barron County Clerk, or from her involvement with the Barron Library and other community organizations. Our hearts go out to Clarice's family at this difficult time.

A memory from Clarice's friend Jude Genereaux...

"As a fledgling county clerk in 1981, my great good fortune was finding Clarice Fall as  part of the office staff I inherited.  I came to know her as one of the truest, kindest and  most dedicated compadres I’ve ever had the good fortune to work with.  She was as thrilled at the resulting “Democratic” win for the seat in November 1980 as was I!  We searched the files, but could find no other Democrat had ever held the position of County Clerk in Barron, and for sure not a female.  She shared my pride in that, with the open heart she is so well known for.

Clarice made a solid impact in my life – not only as a co-worker, but as our friendship grew over the years.  Her “can do” enthusiasm and energy made work-days zip;  her willingness to share history and knowledge from her own experience was a treasure that made a true difference in my ability to cope with the work load.  To this day, I hear in memory tidbits of advice she shared, and her legion of mottos on how to accomplish goals.  One that comes to me most often:  “A task tackled with enthusiasm gets done in half the time”.  That was Clarice’ strong suit:  Enthusiasm.

Her rock solid belief in the Democratic party is part and parcel of the ideals and moral compass that she was true to throughout her life.   Smart, loving, inclusive and kind – Clarice was a great friend, fellow Democrat, co-worker and the kind of Mother we all should be blessed with.  And my friend.  I will miss her greatly."
